Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?
Any student athlete of the Sacramento Region is eligible to apply for the scholarship. We do not limit the scholarship to a certain age group, sport, or gender.
Do you need any volunteers? If so when?
We are always looking for volunteers to assist with obtaining sponsorships, reaching out and/or picking up donations, setting up and cleaning up the day of our fundraiser, and volunteers to assist during our events. We love our volunteers! Our fundraisers would not be successful without the hard work of our volunteers.
I am having trouble submitting my application via the website is there another way i can submit it?
Yes, we do have a pdf copy that you can submit it via email to Mommafranciescholarship@gmail.com. If you would rather submit a paper copy we can give you a mailing address or schedule a day to meet up to submit it in person.
How does your organization choose who is awarded the scholarship?
After the deadline, the board of 9 members then reviews each submission. Once we have viewed every submission we then each cast a vote on who we believe should receive the scholarship(s). The person(s) with the majority votes is then awarded the scholarship.
If I am awarded the scholarship and I am unable to be present to receive the check during the fundraiser does the disqualify me?
Of course not! We understand that some people may be away at college, competing in their sports, or other stuff my come up. We will still make an announcement during our fundraiser celebrating you and wishing you the best .
What can I use the scholarship money for?
The scholarship money can be used for a variety of things. The unique opportunity the Momma Francie scholarship offers is that we allow student athletes of all ages to apply. Therefore, students who may not be attending college may be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship may fund any educational needs, traveling needs, development camps/trainings or sports equipment.
How can I donate? Are donation tax deductible?
You can donate via Venmo, PayPal, Cash or Checks. All donations are tax deductible.
